A Way Of Escape

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
— I Corinthians 10:13

God has promised that we will not be tempted above our capacity to resist but will always have a way of escape.

In 1 Corinthians 10, Paul warns about the dangers of sin and how we should never get so prideful that we think we cannot fall. But, as with God, there is always hope. God will always make a way out for us when we are tempted.

Paul explains that we have been blessed with the same spiritual blessings as Isreal in the Old Testament. With Christ as our rock.

Many of the Israelites, despite the blessings, were spiritual failures and missed out on their promised land because they let their faith waiver and were led astray by idols. Paul warns us to stay on God's path.

When we are tempted, we have a helper. Spiritual failure often comes through excuses and compromise. We don't need an excuse for sin. We have a redeemer to save us from it. Praise God!

"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy" Jude 24

So, the next time you are tempted, make it clear to Satan that your way out is already set and tell him to leave.

To Ponder:

How will I know my way of escape?

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for always providing a way out. May I always incline my heart to You and study Your Word that I will have the wisdom to see my escape. May I always have the courage to tell the enemy that my God is greater.

In Jesus Name, Amen
