Build Upon The Rock

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
— Matthew 7:24,25

Storms can be terribly destructive. The foundation of your house can make a huge difference in how well it survives when storms happen.

It is the same with our spiritual house.

When "life storms" come, we need a strong foundation built on Christ. We build this foundation by hearing and doing what God's Word says. Jesus says that when the winds came, that house built on a rock fell not.

Whatever storms life throws our way- relationship struggles, financial struggles, the death of a loved one, illness, temptation from the enemy- we can stand knowing that Jesus has us in His hands.

You are building on a foundation. But unless you are building upon the foundation of God's Word, your foundation is going to be weak. It is during the difficult times, the times of testing that we really see how strong our foundation is.

So, let us build our lives upon the strongest foundation there is- The Instructions from our Creator. Come what may, He is our Rock that is not moved.

To Ponder:

Is my foundation a solid or sinking one?

Prayer:

God,

You are my Rock that cannot be moved. Help me build my life upon Your Word that stands the test of time and provides me wisdom and a solid foundation. When the floods come, I know with You I can stand.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
