His Anointing My Deliverance

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised
— Luke 4:18

Jesus anointing covered it all. The poor, the broken, the enslaved, the blind, and the bruised.

Jesus received the anointing and gifts of the Holy Spirit at His baptism. But, His mission was not just for the people of His time on earth.

His mission was for You and me.

When I am:

  • Poor
  • Brokenhearted
  • Held captive
  • Blind
  • Bruised

Jesus sacrifice was for all my hurts and pains. That I no longer have to be enslaved to the enemy. Through His sacrifice on the cross, I may obtain freedom. In Luke chapter 4, Jesus overcame the temptations of the enemy for me. He looked through the ages and thought of me.

Jesus life and death is my intervention.

Through His life, through His death on that cross, I have been healed.

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." 1 Peter 2:24

To Ponder:

My freedom and healing has been bought and paid for. Do I accept it? Do I live like it?

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, The Messiah, and Anointed One, through You, is my hope. Thank You for Your sacrifice that I may be set free. Fill me with the Holy Spirit that I may live like I've been set free because I have. Through You, I am healed.

Amen and Amen
