His Grace Is Sufficient

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work
— 2 Corinthians 9:8

When we fail God and fail each other in our relationships, it is easy to get discouraged. There may be an apology needed and seeking of forgiveness when that happens. But, then we need to pick ourselves up and remember that God's grace is sufficient.

He is giving us the sufficiency to abound in good works and will complete the work He has started.

Maybe you yelled at your kids? Lost your temper with a coworker? Or hurt a friend you love deeply. Seek God's forgiveness, then that of the wounded party sincerely. After that, when Satan brings it up to you, simply say, God's grace is sufficient for me.

In this sea of people with various personalities, backgrounds, stories, and cultures, it takes real effort to get along and love one another. But, God is working in us and that is what we are called to do. As we seek God and His Word we are changed more and more and the hurt we cause will become less. But, it will not be non-existent until Christ returns and makes the earth new.

Until then, let us ask for the heart of Jesus and do the best we can to follow the golden rule of treating each other the way we want to be treated. Or, even better, the way Jesus treats us- with grace, patience, and love.

To Ponder:

How may I better represent Jesus in all my relationships? What do I need to work on to be more like Him?

Prayer:

Father God,

Reveal Your heart to me that I may become like You. Give me the heart of Your Son Jesus that everything I do and say will be with more love, grace, and patience. Forgive me Father for the times I lose my patience, raise my voice, or hurt anyone.

I want to be a loving representative of You always. Fill me with Your Spirit.

Amen
