I Will Exalt Him

The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
— Exodus 15:2

Chapter 15 of Exodus is Moses song to the Lord.

Moses and the children of Israel certainly had their ups and downs due to a spirit of complaining and disobedience. But, we would do well to follow their lead in this chapter and to praise the God of our salvation.

We can prepare Him a place of habitation within our hearts.

Have you noticed that you cannot feel stressed and fearful when you are in a moment of true praise to God? Go ahead and try it. Gratitude and fear cannot exist in the same moment.

When we make the choice to remember the goodness of the Lord and praise His Holy name, in the midst of our busy days, it can completely change our mood and uplift us. And the Lord loves it when we remember Him and honor Him.

It does not mean the tide will suddenly turn and all things will go perfectly, but we can move forward in the Lord's hands knowing He has us. We can sing and exalt Him in the midst of daily tasks and experience greater joy. Praise changes us for the better. It exalts God but also exalts us above the circumstances around us. It brings our souls up to a higher level, no matter what our day may bring.

So, wherever you find yourself throughout the day, remember the One who is your strength and lift Him up.

To Ponder:

How can I praise the Lord today in the midst of all my tasks?

No matter what comes and goes today, I will exalt You. You deserve my praise every day for Your goodness endures forever. Help me remember to keep You at the center of every day. To praise You always. To exalt You above all my circumstances. For You are my salvation.
