Is Your Heart Fixed?

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
— Psalm 112:7

We can waste so much of our days by being afraid of what could happen that often never happens. And yet, sometimes bad news does come. Happenings that make our hearts feel shattered. Facing these times alone seems overbearing. But, we are never alone.

"Fixed" adjetive meaning fastened securely in position.

If we "fix" our hearts on the Lord through all our circumstances, daily, we are in a much better condition to face what comes. We can praise the Lord in the good and bad for He is our anchor through it all.

Sometimes we neglect the Lord when things are good and then cry out when we experience trials. But, we would be much better off to fix our hearts beforehand and not worry about what is to come knowing that Our Savior has us in His hands.

When the Lord is on our side, we do not need to be afraid. We can handle all with Him for He can handle all with or without us. He is our Light in darkness.

"Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous." Psalm 112:4

He is unmovable in His love for us. We do well to put our trust in Him come what may.

You choose: Fear or Holy Fixation?

To Ponder:

Do I live in fear of what may come? Or am I trusting Almighty God and fixing my heart on Him?

Prayer:

Lord, I thank You that You are unmovable. That I can fix my heart on You daily and trust in You my Maker and King. Establish my heart that I am not afraid. I will not fear evil tidings for Your righteousness endures forever. Guide all my ways that Your light will shine through me and cut the darkness.

To You be the glory for ever and ever. Amen
