It Is Finished

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
— John 19:30
It Is Finished

There are three words in the sentence above that changed the world. My world. Your World.

Can you pick them out?

Through the darkness, He cried,

It is finished.

With those three words, Jesus took His final breath and His work accomplished. Our salvation with the preceding words, Father forgive them.

A cross. Arms outstretched. Love embodied in a man who gave His life to give us hope of eternal freedom.

Jesus, King of The Universe, won the conflict.

So our relationship to The Father may be restored.

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death* in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit" 1 Peter 3:18

It is finished and Jesus is Lord. Christ won the war so we may have victory for our current and future battles.

To Ponder:

How may I thank Jesus for His victory on the cross with my life today?

Jesus, You are my saving grace. Help me to live with the freedom and connection with the Father that You died on the cross to give me. May I never take Your sacrifice for granted, but live for You day by day. Thank You for finishing the conflict for me.

Amen and Amen.
