Lean Not

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
— Proverbs 3:5

Our understanding is shallow and extremely limited. We understand things from the little that we see. And our view can be very skewed.

Relying on our own understanding is risky. But, if we trust the Lord with all our hearts, we can turn from our limited view to a God that has no limits.

Our understanding cannot be trusted. But, our God has a complete understanding that is worthy of every ounce of trust that we can muster. Instead, we often try to do things our way with our limited minds and meet with defeat over and over again. Perhaps it is time to try things God's way.

When God moves and speaks, we do not always understand Him. We're not meant to understand all on our own. We were created to have a relationship with the All Knowing One.

We are promised that when we stop relying on our own understanding and lean on our Creator that He will direct our steps. And who better to guide us than the One who created us?

We may not understand it all, but we can seek the One who does. Our job? Pray and Trust.

To Ponder:

Will I rely on my limited understanding or on my Creator today? I must make a choice.

Prayer:

Lord,

My understanding is limited and faulty. May I rely on Yours today, tomorrow, and always.

Help me know that I don't have to figure it out because You already have.

May You be the director of my steps and the guide of my life. Fill me with Your Spirit that I may be wise. I give my limits to You for You have none. Thank You for watching over me. Teach me to trust You with all my heart.

Amen
