Rise Up With Wings As Eagles

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
— Isaiah 40:31

Prayer and faith trumps panic every single time.

God promises that if we wait before Him, pause and bow at His feet, we shall run and not be weary, walk and not faint.

He restores our strength when life becomes so hard we feel that we cannot bear it.

Waiting is hard. Our natural inclination when we are weak and weary is to go faster and work even harder to compensate. We panic. Or we get so overwhelmed we quit, we give up. We say maybe this is not meant for me. When really, what we need is to learn to rest in God. Regain strength and look at life with fresh eyes.

Our God is one of refueling, restoring, and refining.

Our spiritual lives need periods of waiting to regain perspective and trust in Our Redeemer. When you feel like you do not have time to rest and wait is probably when you need it the most.

Physical sleep improves our memory, helps us make fewer mistakes, and boosts our productivity. It is necessary time well spent. Spiritual/soul rest is just as important. Actually, even more so. Time with our Creator to restore, refuel, and take a step back to regain the right perspective.

Don't walk around with a weary soul. Wait on the Lord and He shall renew you. Rest and then rise up like an eagle and soar.

To Ponder:

What's my strategy when I am weary? Do I need to schedule in some renewal time with God?

Heavenly Father,

May I always remember to sidestep panic and come straight to You for my renewal and strength. You have promised to help me soar and I thank You. Thank You for being my peace, my comfort, and my restoration.

In Jesus Holy Name, Amen.
