Doer Of The Work

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
— James 1:25

Continueth therein.

Our work with God is not a once and done event. It is a continuous and daily practice.

God's law is perfect.

Our salvation is a free gift. We only have to confess and accept.

"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

Our sanctification, however, requires active participation. Only God can sanctify us, but we must work with Him and allow Him to work in us.

We hear The Word and we do. Hear and do. Not being hearers only and then continuing on with business as usual, but actually allowing God's Word to transform us into His image. It is through this continual transformation that we are promised to be blessed in our deeds.

Be a doer of the work.

To Ponder:

Am I a hearer only? Or am I allowing my life to be transformed and mind renewed?

Prayer:

Father,

I want to be a doer of your perfect law. To follow your Word and be transformed into Your image. To be sanctified in You. I want Your Word to be a living power in my life that I may walk in Your ways and be blessed. May I honor You with all I do.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
